Studies of Parks and Amenity Management was established on 17 April 2001. By Jun 2004 the programme was accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia. The Department of Parks and Amenity Management is the first such centre of studies to be established in Malaysia and the 10th within the Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Surveying. The main aim was to provide a ready pool of professional park managers that will serve the public, private, and non-governmental organizations in the parks and recreation industry both in the built and natural environment.
